# 6. Export and test the TTML

Before exporting:

* remove every empty lyric line, because empty lines prevent the file from loading;
* confirm that every lyric is timed;
* review the songwriter metadata.

1. Open **File**.
2. Select **Save**.
3. Save the `.ttml` file somewhere easy to find.

## Run a local test

:::warning
A file that opens successfully can still contain incorrect lyrics, timing, vocal roles, or metadata. Test it by listening and watching—not only by checking for parser errors.

:::

1. Open the song's lyrics page.
2. Select **Lyrics Manager** to open the local library.
3. Select **Upload TTML**.
4. Choose your `.ttml` file.
5. Select one upload type:

   | Option | Best for |
   |--------|----------|
   | **Temporary Upload** | A quick check; it lasts until you change songs. |
   | **Persistent Upload** | Keeping the file in your local library until you remove it. |
6. Select **Upload**.
7. Confirm that the file parses and every line appears.
8. Play the complete song using the original audio. Check word and line timing, background and duet roles, line breaks, Romanization, metadata, and the beginning and end of the song.

Local testing is a preflight. It does not replace verification against the real streamed song after the TTML is uploaded.
