Welcome, TTML Maker

Welcome—you now have the TTML Maker role. Your first TTML has passed review, and you can now submit your own future work through the Maker upload queue.

What the role allows

TTML Maker lets you create posts in #ttml-uploads and request review and upload of your own TTML files. It does not let you upload directly or approve other makers’ work.

Every future submission must continue to follow the Uploading and TTML Rules. Passing the first review means you understand the workflow; it does not exempt later files from review.

Before every submission

  1. Search #ttml-uploads for an existing submission or someone actively working on the song.

  2. Open the exact song in Spicy Lyrics and check its current lyrics and synchronization. Self-Uploaders and higher roles may have uploaded work without a forum post.

  3. Check relevant alternate releases, including single, album, deluxe, compilation, clean, and explicit versions.

  4. Finish the TTML and test it against the exact streamed song version.

  5. Confirm the lyrics, timing, vocal roles, songwriters, formatting, and variant all follow the rules.

If a good synchronization already exists, do not remake it merely for visibility, views, or maker credit. Replacements are useful when they materially correct the listener-facing result.

Request an upload

  1. Create one post in #ttml-uploads for the song or related release.

  2. Attach or paste the TTML and include the exact song link.

  3. Send each genuinely different version as its own message with its own TTML and link.

  4. Wait for a Reviewer to check it.

  5. Correct every blocking issue in the same post and send the revised file.

  6. After the Reviewer confirms the upload, clear the Spicy Lyrics cache before opening the song to verify the uploaded result.

Reviewers may explain recommendations, but only Required or Forbidden problems can block approval.

When required corrections are posted in your #ttml-uploads thread, respond or provide an updated TTML within one month. If you do neither, another maker may take over the submission, complete the corrections, and receive the maker credit.

Keep improving

Use the TTML Guide for the complete creation workflow, the Transcription Guide for accurate lyrics, Basics Of Splitting for the tool workflow, and the Splitting Guidelines for accepted and incorrect splits.

Ask in #maker-chat when you are unsure. It is better to ask before submitting than to guess about an unsupported structure or unfamiliar language.

You can also update your public Spicy Lyrics profile at spicylyrics.org/app/profile.

Quick first step

For your next song, read the current rules once, check for existing work, and keep the exact song link beside the project from the beginning.
